I'm getting the idea of going to a fabric place to buy a roll of Black Suede to cover my Door Panels. Wondering how it would look. But first of all...possible?
Would it be as simple as removing the door panel, spraying it with fabric glue (that will stick to both the suede and the door panel), and rubbing the suede out free of any creases, folding it to back side of the panel for a clean OEM finish? Hope this makes sense.
Maybe if I do try it, I'll start with something like the center arm rest

I did the passenger glove compartment and driver knee bolster under the steering wheel. I took off the stock pieces and sprayed with contact glue a little section at a time and placed the black suede over the glue and streched and sprayed more as I went a long. Suede doesn't stretch much like leather and you have to be real careful with the finished side of the suede to keep it nice. If you use too much glue it will show through. I would think the top section of the door would be difficult with all the corners and tight bends to make. You may have to make seams to help minimize wrinkles. I don't have any pics right now but I'll try to get some tonight after work.
Look at Alcantara -aka Microsuede. It looks better much longer and cleans much easier than suede. I ordered my DSV steering wheel with Alcantara in the grip area because of those reasons.

Chip's car looks great with that blue suede added. If the OP decides to do the change, please document what you did and post it up. Would be interesting to see the process from start to finish.
I started out doing CF but did not like the way it turned out on the lower doors so covered them in black suede, i also did the window pillars, console, glovebox, and radio bezel. When I switch to black carpet instead of red I will swap out the black suede with purple. http://strobelvette.webs.com/
I did my lower doors and bezels with carbon fiber leather (VE did the pull handles and arm rests). I would think the upper doors would be impossible to do in a single-piece of leather...
