I just got my tax refund back and I am thinking about using it to put a vararam intake and power duct in my 2000 FRC. My concern is that I use my vette as a daily driver and even in the rain. I know the vararam states that it has a "drainage system" that does not allow for water to get in the engine but I am still concerned.
Anyone here have a vararam in their vette and drive it in the rain?
Also, any kind of input you guys could give on vararam or any other intake system, feel free to give your input so I can make an informed choice.
it will be fine...I know plenty that run tham all the time. if you want extra insurance, drill a couple more holes in the pipes that conenct to the bumper
I have both in mine and drive it in all conditions. You will be fine. All you have to do is stay away from deep water. Do not drive through water that goes higher then the nose.

I would hope nobody would do this even without a Vararam.

haha...hopefully that never happens. Maybe instead of a vararam I should invent the Vette snorkle and put that in
Mine is a daily driver with a Vararam and not only have I driven it in heavy rain, but a lot of snow also. I got the Vararam installed in Dec 2005 at the 59k mark and now have 104k on it. No issues whatsoever, it's the perfect mod for a daily driver.

I drove mine during Tropical Storm Fay last year. We had over 30 inches of rain over a 3 or 4 day period. It's all common sense. You can drown a Hummer if you put it deep enough water.

I DD my '02 Z06 and recently put a VaraRam on. I'm not worried about
water, but I also installed the Power Duct and due to moving the MAF
it threw a code. I decided to remove the Power Duct until I can afford
a full dyno tune.
I have a couple of friends that have had the VaraRam for some time and
they are both DD's - no problems (both Z06's).
