Just picked up a set of chrome wheels and wanted to know what everyone recommended using as a protectant before I get them mounted and balanced? Want to make sure get a good start on them from the get go.

Get the wheels really clean and then apply a coat of a really good car wax to the wheels. Then be sure you keep the wheels clean, especially of brake dust.
Actually, protecting the barrels from brake dust is as much of a concern as keeping the "visible" part of the wheel lookin' good
On my Vette, cleaning the barrels was apparently not a big concern for it's previous owner, and they're pitted pretty badly from brake dust.
Maybe someone will chime in with the solution to the brake dust problem, because I'm not really sure what would work best -Clear coat maybe?
BTW ,I use Rejex on them every month or so ,works sweet,if some crap does get on them,it doesn't stick.
I use Rejex once a year (wheels off) a good wash once a week and detail spray as needed with the rejex break dust just rinse's right off with soap and water
