Default LS2 or C6?

My C-5 is running good at 100,000 miles but I was just thinking about the future. If it ever needs a motor...........what would u do? and why, put a Ls2, LS7 in the C-5 or just get a C-6 in a couple years...............

That's up to you and how much you want to spend. C6 is the best looking Vette so far IMHO (not popular on here but I think so even though I have a C5), so I gotta say I'd buy one. But if you love your C5 and see no need to buy a new car, toss in another motor instead. The LS3 is a bad mother and very cost-effective, although you can't go wrong with any of the LS-series.

IMO the C-5 is the best looking car ever made. I loved them when they 1st came out and still do. I would keep it

Well the motor usually out lives most cars except the vette is a glass body . I
would bet your car will last a long time so I would probably consider a trade down the line

The C5 caught my eye the very first time I seen one in 1998. I was very impressed and couldnt take my eye off of it! I dont think I could ever get rid of mine. Do a stroker motor and find new life in the car.

Why not do another LS1 or LS6? How hard would it be to go to an LS2 or LS7?

Remember that a trade up to a C6 will bring much more than just a new engine. Just about everything is better. Power, ride, seats and much more. I traded my C5 in Feb. for a 2006 C6 and could not believe the difference. I though about a engine change in the C5 for more power but when I figured the cost and the numbers just didn't add up. I loved the C5 and always will but I have not been disappointed in the new one.

Highly subjective topic here.

I've been in a few C6's and the interior is a little fancier, but the power and ride are something easily duplicated in any C5.

Bolt-ons and suspension upgrades are easy. If the seats are an issue - they too can be replaced.

No C6 for me.

I like the C6 ,over time its won over.I also like my C5Z, the distinctive style of the FRC,and I actually like the C5 interior better, Yes it could be a bit more fancy. The HID lights on the C6 a master piece. Our head lights in a word suc, so I put ACA's on mine (oops theres $700.00) to catchup. The fatal flaw on the gorgeous C6 front end is where do you put the license plate with out making it look like S---. Yes I live in a state that loves to ticket for that (why give them a reason to pull you over). Our seats die at about 10,000K but that can be fixed, C6 new are a bit better also have a lumber option (heated seats? Idon't drive the vette in salt) The new GS C6 I think over the top gorgeous. As far as power goes its the old hot rod anthem of how fast do you want to go-how much money do you what to spend, buying a 435hp C6 will cost you so will a motor swap. My problem is at 34,000K on my Z it has cost me about $1.50 a mile to own without mods figured in, and I will not sell till I'm over 150K. At 100K on yours, your at the point that if it were me I'd get a C6 before moding.

I'd throw in a LS3 and the Ligenfelter converter for the crank sensor (reluctor wheel).

They finally have a converter, thats great. The OP has got to decide whether to spend 15to20k into the old girl or 35k into a newer mistress.

Personally, I would get me a new mistress as there is more excitement in something new than a fixer upper.

Since it's subjective just go with whatever looks best to you. I can't stand the regular look of the C6 so I would have to get the C6Z to like the looks and even then I would take a roughly 330rwhp LOSS to get into one.

Do what makes you happy man.

I tend to agree. That C6Z makes everything look kind of tired. If the real estate market wasn't in the toilet I'd probably sell something and buy one..............Somebody had a picture of a dark gray one with those red calipers............Oh, boy
