Default C5 drag radials questions...

Need to get some Drag Radials for the C5, looking at the Nitto 555R's, I have the stock thinspokes 18X9.5" with 275/40/18 tires.

What size should I get in the 555R's? closest that I saw was the 285/35/18.

Would this be the best fit? and would the diameter be close enough that the BCM/ECM would not throw any codes for traction control or ABS?

These should hook up with 388 rwhp/383 rwtq right?

Where is the cheapest place to buy these? I just need carry out, I can mount and balance at work.

Trying to set aside some $$ for this, hope to be able to pick some up soon, ( I just got a side job that should cover most of the $$ I hope) the 555's that are on there now are not hooking up.

pick I found on CF of some 285/35/18 nitto 555r's on thinspokes...

Ive tried a few DRs and have found that MTs and BFGs are a better tire. I have MTs now and you would not believe how they hook. Only my $.02 dont go 555s

****to's are good for a DD car that has a decent amount of power to drive around on daily. They are not any good(in regards to other DR's) at the track. They are more of a very sticky street tire. If you want something to hook that you dont have to worry about, Go with a MT....You wont regret it.

nittos' drag radial is crappy compared to MT or BFG. personally, i had nitto first and they were horrible. Then i got BFG and it was a huge improvement!!! i loved those tires!!! hooked my 500+rwhp car no problem. I hear the Mickey Thompsons are a hell of a lot better then the BFG even.

as for your tire size, i bet you could go 305 even on that 9.5" rim. however, its not safe if you plan on hitting corners hard.

These are 555's with 370rwhp and already partially warmed.
Even at 40mph I can break them free quite easily.

do you have a stock rear end? DR's will be a lot of stress on your rear

You get what you pay for. I had very good results on my car with the Nittos. Its a mid 12 second car, and they need to be really smoked up to work at all.
