I've read a few things about engine ping (knock), I have to be honest I don't know that I've heard it. Or, If I have I don't recognize it. I just had the car tuned after full exhaust install. I don't notice any strange sounds. However, I do notice some "noise" when in 6th gear on the highway and I put my foot down. Now, I know with Long Tube headers it's typical to hear some more engine noise. If memory serves, the noise existed before I touched anything. I think it's just the sound the car makes at lower RPM under load. Oh, and I run the highest octane you can run in CA, 91. Any and all feedback appreciated.

If you are in 6th and putting a load on the motor that is when you will hear it, Ping sounds like metal rattling around. Hard sound to mimic. Make sure you are running 91 plus octane.

Well, if the motor is "pinging" not sure what else to do for it. Had a great dyno tune and Ryne at CMS said it was dialed in great. He even did a street tune before the dyno. Run the highest Octane I can get my hands on........ Do you hear this in your car?

I have never heard it on my Vette. What elevation are you at? Never mind, sea level. Ping is at its worst at sea level, I am at 4500 feet and so to SF and Sac all the time.
You need to take it back and get the part throttle timing curve tuning adjusted. I have a more aggressive tune in my car also, and have had to had the part throttle timing curve adjusted a few times now because I was hearing pinging in the 1500 to 2000 rpm range in the higher gears, even with 94 octane. In fact I'm still getting a little bit of pinging still and need to get a few more degrees of timing pulled out.
