I assume your asking about tire Size for the 02 Z06.. Stock sizes are 265 40 17 & 295 35 18. Is this what you were looking for. Or are you wanting to go bigger?

I replaced my OEM supercars with Goodyear GSD3's and I love them.

I had to go wit 275/40x 17's on the front.

FWIW.... Good luck, there are a lot of good tires to choose from....

Can anyone tell me the advantages of installing a slightly wider tire instead of the oem sizes? I'm getting ready to install new rubber on my '01; oem sizes are 265-40-17 and 295-35-18. I've heard of installing 275 on the fronts and 305 on the rears. What for? Do they look better? Any problems with fit on the stock rims? I'm just curious and since I havn't ordered the rubber yet just thought I'd get some opinions. I don't take the Z to the track, just regular spirited driving. Thanks

I'm going to change from Goodyear oem to Michelin non-runflat and probably go with oem sizes. I've heard good things about the Michelin's and I can get them from Cosco for $1570 out the door.

Nitto Invo or NT05. Michelin PS2's are good when hot. Just my experience.

Do NOT get Nitto Invo, worst tire I have ever had PERIOD. IF you drive your car hard, you will find these tires WILL break loose, as in during high G cornering.

I run 345-30-19 Nitto Invo's on the rear of my car with over 650 rwhp and relatively speaking, they hook very well! Good luck with your decision.

I'm actually searching for tires now. I want to upgrade from my stock F1 Supercar's for track days. I just priced the PS2's and they came out around $1300. About the same as my '02 Z28. Not bad. The Sport Cup is too much tire for me right now at my skill level. I need that audible feedback from the tire to correlate the sound to the feel in my butt. Then if I grow some larger huevos, I may go with a more aggressive tire.

I just compared the PS2's with the Sport Cups. What makes the Sport Cup a better track tyre if the PS2's have a better ranking for Wet and Dry Traction?

the PS2 has better dry traction than the sport cups?!?!

I always thought just the opposite.. they put the cup tires on the GT3 RS.. those things are basically slicks.. not much wet traction from what I understand.

At least according to those little green bars on TireRack where folks can rate the tires. Unless the ranking is dependent upon the persons perspective. That is, a track enthusiast may have an expectation from the track tire, whereas a dude drving to and from work will have a different perspective on a stree tire. It may depend upon where a person is coming from.

So the ranking may not be on overall grippiness, but rather, as compared with it's competition. G-loads would be a good non-subjective way to rank the tires.

It sounds like the TireRack ranking systems may be subjective, not objective.

I know from my experience that the Sport Cup is too much tire for me, at my level of ability. A more noisy tire like the PS2 would be a better fit for me.

Where did you get the price on the Michelins? I checked Tire Rack and I thought they quoted me around $1600. Cosco is quoting $1530 installed. Thanks

I had wide ovals on my C4.. they were great in the wet!!! just ok in the dry.. The look.. When i put the first set on I thought they looked like tractor tires (all the tall lugs on the outside). I think the BEST LOOKING is type Toyo T1R...

the WO are great tires to put on your wet tire weels for wet track days!

I'm going to buy the Vredestein tire when my Conti 2's wear out.I've heard good things about the "V" tires and cost is reasonable.

I run F:275/35/18 & R:295/30/19.
