caliper anti rattle clips - do I need them

I did a C5 brake conversion to my C4. One of the anti rattle clips was missing from the used calipers I purchased. This is the clip that fits on the top of the caliper. Is it necessary or not? Thank you in advance for your help.

If you are talking about the single piece that pushes against the center of the backing plate where the little bump is located the answer is no. If you are talking about the two pieces mounted at each end of the caliper where the ends of the pad fit then you need those.

They are NOT required. If you have them, keep em, if you don't I wouldn't sweat it.
