With the introduction of the C6 ZR1, I find it sort of "un-Corvetteish" to put a blower on the car. As far as I know since 53, the Corvette has never been a car to have factory forced induction. Even though the first few years had 6 cylinder engines, the rest have been NA V8s. I love that about the Corvette. However I know that times are changing and that in order to make more power a blower may be necessary to keep Corvette comparable to the competition(in stock factory form).
Not that I do not like the ZR1, it is a fine car but, I'd rather stick with a good ole huge displacement ZO6. Am I the only one that feels that way, that the Corvette is more suited for battle with a huge discplacement engine rather than a smaller F/I engine?
I see where you're coming from, but i (having a supercharger) just like whatever can make your car go fast. From what ive seen FI is the easiest way to produce the most hp.
If the LS2/3 was out when I did my little LS6 I would have went that way, but I have a few ponies more at the tires than the ZR1 has at the flywheel If I was to build a new setup I would get a LS3 some after market heads and a F1R for some serious boost. Why the LS3 over the LS2, notice I did not say stroker, do not need it with the LS3, I have a stock C6 and the TQ the LS3 makes over the LS2/6 is really huge at the low end and carries throughout the power band, my 2c deposited

As long as the Corvette continues to have a V8 under the hood, I'm fine with it being supercharged. Getting that much HP from a small block is pretty cool while still maintaining a great mpg average.

If I had the cash, I would do both, big block and supercharger, seeing I can't do both Supercharger would be my first choice knowing that FI is the only way to go... Dependable in daily driving and if you feel the need it will be there when needed...
I don't think with the hood closed anyone can tell if you have a different size engine. Hell even with looking an LS3 doesn't look to have more displacement that an LS1.
If I had unlimited funds I would swap in an LS7 with the accompanying transmission and hardware. From looking at dyno charts, the LS9 looses about 50hp after just a few runs, so heatsoak is a ****. An NA engine will never have that issue, of course the placement of the heat exchanger for the LS9 is also a huge factor for that. Why Chevrolet decided to put the intercooler on top of the engine and blower is far beyond me.
