Default Hood liner question

Is the hood liner removable without tearing either it or the big plastic fasteners? Are the fasteners reusable once you remove them? I want to paint the vette emblem under the hood but don't want to stand and try and reach over to do it.

Thanks

Yes it is. But take your time when removing the fasteners so as not to bend or loose them. Some have recommended you place a tray or clear plastic over the engine bay to catch any that may fall.

If you are successful in pulling it off, it can be re-installed with the same black pins.

Don't worry about the fasteners as you can buy them at any auto parts store.

I used a BBQ fork on mine, worked very well. Painted the embossed emblem and stuck it back on

HI There:
After your finished with the emblem you may want to install the chrome sink covers sold at Lowes over the black plastic retainers.

You add any Bulls Eye or KC Masterpiece sauce to that?

If you are careful, you can remove the plastic retainers in one piece and reuse them when you reinstall the hoodliner. If you happen to break one of the retainers, they can be easily replaced. Use the fork shaped tool mentioned above to get the retainers off.
