Shorty headers...need some help.
Hi guys. I saw some Patriot LS1 shorty headers for sale on Craigslist. No other info in the ad. I'll get more info, but for now, maybe you guys can help me.
Does anybody know if LS1 headers from that company fits a Corvette, or are there different LS1 headers for Camaro/Corvette and different ones depending on the year of the Vette...if I remember, I think I usually see shorty headers listed for 97-99 Vettes and newer Vettes as separate items, but I might be mistaken.
And does anybody have experience with the Patriot brand. I have not heard anything about their headers. Any performance gains to be expected? I know some brands state up to 20hp with a tune...

Shorty headers are direct replacements for the exhaust manifold. GM made 3 different exhaust manifolds for the C5 Corvette. One that fits 97-99 model cars, one that fits 2000 model cars, and another that fits 01-04 model cars. The difference in the 3 different models are the location of the AIR tube flanges and the angle of the collector flanges. They are not interchangeable without modifying the car. I don't know for sure because I'm not familiar with F body cars but I would not think that any shorty headers made for a Camaro would fit a C5.
The best HP gain I've ever seen on a Dyno for shorty headers, a Magazine did an article and installed some B&B shorty headers (considered by some the best shorty headers for the C5, certainly the most expensive) and they gained 9 RWHP.
I'm not familiar with Patriot brand shorty headers, although I think I've heard of them, but without knowing the model # and what they fit the odds of them fitting your car without modifications to the car aren't very good.
