NON RUNFLATS !! Must read
Second mod .... " NON RUN-FLATS "
What a difference I can hear the radio, I can hear the car shift, I can hear the exhaust .
Its like driving on really smooth rails .
Yes I have jacking pucks a spare and a jack, and a trusty can of stop leak.
The entire switch over with new tires BFG KDW ( old tread pattern ) brake pads and TPS batteries cost alot less than 2 EMTs .
I love it

AAA is GREAT, I know, I have used their towing services more than a few times after breaking driveline parts.

I first ditched the runflats for Good Year GS-D3. Big improvement, but still crappy performance. I don't know why so many people recommend those tires, they're designed for long life, not optimal grip. Mediocre "performance" tire.
Next went with sticky tires, BF Goodrich KDW then Nitto Drag radials.

The first were GREAT, sticky, performance tires and excellent in curves.
The second were obviously killer straight line tires.
Using runflats on your Corvette would be like hooking a blu-ray player up to a 30 year old television set.
I can understand it for waxers/cruisers. Convenient and peace of mind.
But if you ever want to use the car for it's true purpose, the run-flats need to go.

I guess you can say I am looking forward to it like a 50 year old divorcee looks forward to that second, younger hotter wife........
I do get a little nervous though going on road trips. I live in Vegas so we have a few open areas with nothing in site but desert. But i would never go back to run flats. Probably should think about geting a plug kit and a jack since i have some miles on the Michellins.
