Default Question about overheating and temperature!!

Hey everybody

Fairly new to the Vette community and need to know..

I was driving the other day(live in NJ) local streets and roads..
Everytime I stopped the temp needle kept creeeping up to 210..220...230..
When I started driving it would go down all the way to 190...185..
All this would happen in a span of 2 to 3 minutes..
As long as ikept moving the car was cool..
I have a Vram cold air intake..

Could this be just a coolant issue or something else??

Help!!

Step 1. Clean your radiator. Then see how she runs.

mine did the exact same thing. I put in a new radiator from dewitts (leaking at the bottom corner plastic to metal seal... very very small weep) and replaced the water pump to a ls2 type water pump from gene cully. now its solid as it was when is was new. I did find a serious amount of junk way up top between the radiator core and air conditioning core when I took it apart. I do thing the surge type symptom was the waterpump to be true......... it was rather easy to do, I certainly would not pay a dealer to repace the waterpump.

If you have the AC on the low speed will come on at a lower temp. I think it was 185 unless you are over 35mph.

If the temp goes down quickly while you are moving I think you have nothing to be concerned about. It's when the temp keeps rising while you are moving that you need to be concerned.
Thanks for the info..
At what temp do I have to be concerned about the car overheating..
Is there a normal range??
Im not sure If the fans came on because the I was playing the radio..
Thanks Again!!
