Default Short headers question

I know long tube are the way to get more hp. But, I live in cally and have to play the game.

My questions is; Does the short tube headers at least SOUNDS like your running headers or do they sound stock?

Thanks

Sui

I think it would depend on the rest of your exhaust system. I've heard cars with B&B and BBK shorty header systems. They had the oem Z06 titanium exhaust. They sounded a little more gurgly (I just made that up) at idle and much better on the throttle than mine with cast iron manifolds.

B&B is about 100 miles down the highway from me. They would be my first choice. They're CARB approved.

I'm in AZ and don't have emissions (yet) in the county where we currently live. It's going to come here eventually. The mountains can only do so much in keeping the air junk out of our community. So, shorty headers would be my choice as well. They're easier to DIY install, mount up to the oem exhaust, look cleaner, sound better, provide maybe 10hp over oem. The real advantage I see is all that weight is coming off the front end...plus no need for additional money for a professional tune to achieve maximum results.

Don't let anyone try to talk you out of them. There's plenty of owners here who have shorty headers and are happy with them. They usually don't speak up because of the comments...

I have them (B&B shorty headers) and there was a slight difference in the sound, but nothing dramatic.

The B&B (and borla i believe) Have equal length primaries and will give you the next best thing to long tubes sound and performance wise.
