Default Corvette Future???

Hey guys, by now we all heard of the chance that GM will go Chapter 11. Will this cause the new models and C5's to tumble? There will always be parts available but the buyer may panic.

You might want to use the search function, there have been millions of threads on this subject. Personally I think GM will have to file for bankruptsy and will emerge from it a healthier leaner company. It will take a few year before they are actually healthy enough to start showing a good profit. Me, I lost my a$$ on the GM stock I sold a few weeks ago. The Corvette will survive and the C5 will continue to slowly drop in price for the next 10 years or so. At which time it will hit a lull for a period of time and them slowly begin to rise in price. But I'll be dead before it reaches the price I paid for it new if it ever reaches that price.

I made a bunch of money with GM stock and then lost it all back on GM stock. On the survival of the corvette I would say absolutely yes it will survive. I think it's the most profitable, or at least had been, the most profitable brand for several years.

Both GM and Corvette will survive. GM may not resemble what we knew in the past,,but one way or another it will be around! Mark my words,,,they will use the bankruptcy ploy,,dump all the retirees and screw over the worker benefits. Then after a bit they will regain solid footing,,,and give all the execs big multi-million dollar bonuses!! They have a history of similar tactics,,they will use bankruptcy to do a bigger and better job of it this time!!

Check the Canadian forum. There's a thread about the future of the Corvette - apparently it's here to stay
