Has anyone ever noticed that Vette owners probably have a higher ratio of custom plates than any other make of car?????!!!! Might it have something to do with our egos, i.e.) we all drive Vettes.
Mine by the way is "X-Gardian" as a former US Coast Guard Rescue Aviation Para- Medic. Yeah, the guy that "used to" jump out of a perfectly good aircraft to go rescue some idiot that got himself in a world of $hit.
When I was 17 I got the RRRUSH plate for my 4 year old 1986 Camaro. It has a double meaning. Rush - like being in a hurry, or like an adrenaline rush. People ask me if I'm a fan of the band Rush, and if i'm a big fan of Rush Limbaugh.
Since then, that plate has been on 6 Camaros. It's currently on my 94.
When I got the Vette, this forum helped me pick the plate for it, simply adding another R to the plate on the Camaro. They are kissing cousins.
I love my cars and my Buick Regal will always be my favorite car of all time (Not a knock on the Vette at all I just have too many fond memories with my car and prior to my Regal I was use to 18 second cars so its my first taste of power, I'm sentimental)
It never got custom plates though because you know its a Regal its under the radar.
I've only been driving a Vette for 2 days and holy crap I'm still weirded out by how many people talk to you in parking lots and how people drive next to you on the freeway just to stare and how it seems like 350Z drivers really hate me
Thankfully I'm a social guy and I love talking to people
Well I decided to go with custom plates because people look at the car so might as well stand up for what I believe in. They'll see my Vette and theyll see that my passion is animal rescue

Dude, I dont know who sold you that pack of BS, but a helicopter is NOT a perfectly good aircraft.
J/K - Thanks for serving and rescuing the needy - as well as the idiots that went out when they should not have
VFX DUDE, cause I do visual fx for video games for a living (and it's how I'm paying off the loan)!
The other two 'vettes in the family have custom plates as well:
The XLR has "LZYBYC6" for LazyBoy C6. I got it as a gift for my dad since he always reclines his drivers seat so much when driving, it's like sitting in a a Lay-z-Boy chair, and the C6 cause the XLR's based off the C6 chassis.
The '86 has BLK POYL, for Black Pearl. Sis' 'vette (was my previous ride), we had it painted a high gloss black and she really liked the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. She even has a "Why is the rum always gone?" license plate frame.
