I'm trying to test the trunk & fog light switch with an ohmmeter but no result (switch is brand new). Do I have to energize it to test it ?
The reason : I have to install a rear fog light to approve the car to European rules of road, and want to use the GM switch. I don't want to use the BCM connections. So please help me.
Thanks.

Have you just tried plugging it in and seeing if the indicator light illuminates? GM provides all the wiring regardless of whether the car originally had foglights or not. So even if you don't have foglights, the light should light up. Then you can go to the purple wire coming off the underhood fuse box from fuse #39 and see if you've got power. That's the fuse for powering foglights.

Hello,
thanks for your answer. The actual problem is that the car is in the boat, waiting for delivery. I will try first to do what you say.
Just a question, even if fogs are not installed, wires are really on the plug ?
Again thanks.

Yes, it's probably easier to just use the same wiring harness in all C5's instead of separate complete harnesses depending on whether the car has fogs or not. The plug that goes to the trunk switch is also wired for fogs even if the car doesn't have them. That is a fact. I just wired the fogs in my Z06 to the fuse box and plugged in the switch. The fuse and the relay are already installed in the fuse box too.

Hello,
Is there a "stand by harness" or plug for fog lights ?
Or do I have to instal a "personal harness" from the fuse box ?
Thanks.
