Low Oil Level
Driving my car today and stopped for awhile and then started it back up and it read "Low Oil Level' I checked it and it is low.
I have 23,500 on my 02 and about 500 miles away from the scheduled oil change- so I will go ahead and have the oil changed-but I have noticed no oil leaks-so is it normal for these to burn some oil within 5000 mile intervals?
I purchased it one year ago with 15,500 on it and this is the first time, I have had this read out!

I have a 2002 also and haven't gone through any oil. If you do a search it is comon that some use oil and some don't, I have read also if you drive your car like you stoled it you will use oil.

Bill, thanks- I don't drive it like I stole it-far from it- I just cruise down the road- with wind cascading through my beautiful blond wife's hair. If i drive fast-I have to keep my eyes on the road and can't slip a peek at her- the curse of not being multi-tasked.

My 2001 uses a little oil as well! I have read several posts pertaining to oil usage and it seams to be a common thing. I would not worry about it as long as you don't see any oil spills.
