If you can get the VIN you can do some deciphering. There is a very recent post about this, it explains which digit tells you what the configuration is, for example the sixth digit tells you whether it is a vert, frc or basic coupe.
For what it is worth, I bought my 01' coupe in march with 37,000 on it for $17,000. About the only thing it did not have was HUD. The car was in great shape. This was in the midwest.
$20k for 01 TR Coupe, 6 sp w 25k miles sounds about right, especially if it's from a Corvette enthusiast who really cared for the car. If it's his/her baby, and you visit their home, see their garage set up, learn the history of the car, etc.--these things mean a lot to me when purchasing. Tasteful Mods, both cosmetic and performance, add some value to the car.
On the other hand, a $20k sticker on a 25k miles C5 sitting on some car lot, w no history, would not be nearly as appealing to me.

P.S. If you have never had a Vert, you may wanna check out the 01-04 Verts. I love my 01 TR Z51, my first convertible ever. They are simply great cars that should hold their value slightly better than the coupes.
