Default My first Vette need advice!!

Hey everybody, I just joined the forum, I picked up a 97 vette yesterday....the car is a lot of fun!! It has a few things that need to be fixed but i like it a lot. I was just wondering what things i need to check for this year car (common problems) and what would be the first and best mods for the car. Thanks in advance for any advice.

welcome! Ohhh you can search tons of threads on this...I had a 97...now my current 04...had a 92 n 84 before those..anyways....EXHAUST, AIR SYSTEM, TINT, HEADERS & CAM if got the $$$...but def exhaust and air first....go with what you like though as youll hear tons of debates on which brands etc...all in personal taste!....oh and if really got the $$$ get wheels!!...

Steering wheel lock you will hear about as a main prob..(i think it was part of that year...)..

For me though...Borla exhaust and Callaway Air

Enjoy the site

Great looking 'Vette....even for a white one

Plenty of cosmetic mods already....gauges, shift ****, letterings, tint, fuel rail covers and other under hood goodies, lowered, great wheels....I know I'm leaving out stuff....needs some TLC and cleaning in the interior....so great find.

Look for some threads on some repair issues.

Welcome......it's love at first drive.

Congrats on the car. The first mods depends on whether you want to go the performance or looks route. For performance, rear gears, headers, air intake, etc. are good choices.

For looks, high rise hood, new wheels, custom interior, etc. are popular.

Things to look for are leaky differential seals, rocking seat, column lock, etc.

Thanks for all the replies, i just ordered a B&B bullet catback. so the exhuast will be my fist mod. I think i will do headers and x-pipe and then start with interior (looking at vette essentials). I also would like to get a double din system in the car.

If you spend enough time on the forum the mod bug will hit you really hard, you may want to consider a second job! -)
