Default Inserts and Z06 screens

Hi guys I am ordering inserts for the Corvette on the bumpers soon and was wondering if it matters what ones to get???I am looking to get black btw. I looked on corvette america and 15 dollars or so each seemed like it was to cheap to be any good... and with the Z06 screens where should I order them and do they come with what I need to mount them and how are they mounted...I know there are different options???

Thanks in Advance

Rob

Sorry for the newb Questions

Hey Rob,

I don't have any black inserts, but RaceMesh are the best screens on the market, IMHO

Rob,

The STD SS is like the OEM but much thicker grade.

The Z06 Screens come with 2 sided tape, but I recommend removing it and using velcro instead (so you can remove at a later date if you want to clean)

Please be advised that these are made to order and take 4 weeks, but it is well worth the wait.

You may want to check with RPI designs for the inserts...

Peace
Chip

Ok thanks I am guessing you just take off the double sided tape and replace with velcro. Sounds good and I ll wait to do it right should be putting in my order soon

I bought a complete set of the RaceMesh, 8 pieces in black powdercoat, but haven't installed them yet. They are very "meaty" and should last indefinitely. The preferred method of installation is to silicone them into place from the inside, so no edges are exposed. The front fog light grilles come with weather stripping around them for a finished look, push into place and are held with a couple tie wraps.
I prefer the black version as I want these to be functional without being the center of attention - a finishing touch that usually goes unnoticed until closer inspection.

Robert 2000, if you're forgoing the foglight screens because of access to the backside (where your V-ram attaches), this shouldn't be a problem. I, too, have purchased the Vararam with the intent of installing this at the same time as the screens. The screens that go into the foglight openings actually go in from the front (at least the RaceMesh do) and are pressure fit with double sided tape (included) or Velcro or tie wraps. You shouldn't need to remove the Vararam to put these screens in. I've also read that putting these screens in will help filter out the larger debris that will get sucked into the Vararam. Less cloggage should be a good thing...
