Default 2000 fob question

I just bought a 2000 fob on ebay...I just noticed the gm# is not the same, but the canada # and the ID# are the same...Does anyone know if this Will still work with my car? This new fob has the passive switch as well..

I doubt it will work. If it has the passive switch then it's not a '00. You can try it, but I would ask for a refund because the '00 is unique from the others.

I use a 2000 FOB on my 98 so I think a 97 to 98 FOB would work on a 2000.

From what I remember reading in the past it will work. Even if you have a pre 2000 you can use the newer fob you just will not have the passive feature on it.
