I have put about 350 street miles so far on this clutch. My problem I had with high rpm shifts is gone I can jam through the gears at 6500 rpm. before my pedal would stick to the floor or be hard to push in. However with this new clutch starting off in 1st gear it grabs ? chatter? I dont know what to call it. It hops unless I use ahigh rpm to start off is this your calling chatter maybe it will go away I hope so.
Stage 3 monster clutch
pro chargerer
1 7/8" arh headers
slp loud mouths
Oh I forgot the meth @ 2 lbs boost... 4" pulley making 9 psi
All have been told chatter is suppose to go away after 500 miles. Dont expect it to before that especially if the 500 miles is a lot of freeway no shifting driving. The more you shift and get the disc bedding against the flywheel the faster the chatter will go away.
Yeah I get that too on my new monster level 3 clutch. I only have 20 miles on it. Seems like it likes 1200 rpm or more to leave in first and it just goes smooth. Too little rpms and it chatters some.
I have about 2,500 miles on my level 3. Unfortunately the chatter never went a way. I am a little disappointed, there website said I would have stock engagement. It actually said butter smooth. Now they come out with .5 series clutch and it doesn't say it about the level 3 anymore, It says it about the .5 series clutch's.
Other than that the clutch works great. I put almost 540hp to the wheels and I have over 450ft/lbs at 2500rpm and the clutch performs great. Pedal feels just like stock. Just wish I had the butter smooth take off I was told I would have.

is it still the same as new.. Mine is chattering so bad it shakes the dash but just like you at the higher rpm its fine on take off
Don't quote me on this but I think I read somewhere that if you give it a good 3 4 or 5th (can't remember which) launch in a parking lot that it'll cut WAYYY down on the chatter. Something just seems to be ringing a bell about that. Shrug.

yes thats how us old timers used to fix the old 6 puck style discs...Dump it at 5k and let it slip like hell one time and chatter always went away..

Sounds like a bad idea to me. The chatter at take off isn't worth the chance of smoking an $850 clutch and pain in the *** weekend of my time changing it.

If a 5k launch in 4th is smoking your clutch than I wouldn't want that clutch in my car in the first place
i was having a helluva time with my spec twin with chatter....got real irritated with it so i was thinking all this chatter is just bouncing the disks off the pp and flywheels...thats not going to bed a disk at all...so i was just doing some 2nd gear 2000 rpm takeoffs trying to slip it....after about 5-6 of those....it really calmed down the chatter....now after 1000 miles or so....barely any chatter...still grabby but hey what twin isnt grabby...im happy!

I just did some 2nd gear starts nothing insane just normal take off and it helped mine also its really smooth starting off in 2nd.
I have some chatter too with 500 miles on it. It seems that there is a sweet spot for it and higher RPMs with a quick release really help it. If I slip it with anything close to 1000 RPMs I get some chatter but it is getting better. Only does it from a dead stop and if I am rolling the slightest bit I get no chatter. I was thinking about romping on this thing to see if it helps the chatter but as others have stated I don't want to glaze this new clutch and do more damage than good. I am beginning to become concerned that this chatter won't go away completely but I will wait another 500 miles before I really get ticked.
I have the pedal stuck to the floor issue now, Im curious as to what fixed the issue for you? what parts did you replace along with the clutch? What advice can you give me about this swap? Thanks

I have about 550 city miles on my cluth now it feels pretty good Like you said there seems to be a sweet spot last time I drove it it only chattered 1 time but I was asleep at take off
I have the monster stage III with about 1500 miles on it. Within the last 500 miles or so the chatter has disappeared. The clutch is still very 'grabby' and I have to use more RPMs than stock to get going but the chatter that rattles your teeth is long gone. Hopefully you guys will have the same results.

I hope so too. Clutches in these cars are way too expensive to be changing out like spark plugs. I am gonna go beat on mine this weekend and see if the chatter goes away. I will report back with good or bad news.
