Default *DIY* - Chrome Trim For C5 Shifter Console *

Here's a little DIY a customer of mine did.

The pictures are not that great but if you look, he put a chrome trim ring around the shifter (I like that) and the track control pod.
He played with a little trim on the bottom edge too. Thats up in the air.

Check it out

What did he use??

Yup, chrome door edge trim for about $5.00.

Chomes in black chrome too. He did not expect me to take a quick 2 shots. Had the black area been cleaned and dressed it would make the trim pop nice.

I thought it was a niffty lil DIY'er. Take care

Ed

I plan on doing the cove mod on my black '97. I enjoy the diy mods not just for the cost, but all the thinking that went into it. Nice diy!

Absolutely I dig creativeness even with something as simple as this...

To answer Charliec's question:

Pop the shifter boot out of the console, pull it up over the shift ****,Put a zip-lok(nylon wire tie) around the shift shaft, push it up as far as it'll go,pull it as tight as you can get it,and snip off the excess.
Then reinstall the shift boot into the console, and it'll stay right up under the ****.
