Default Windsheild Replacement

I'm thinking of buying a 2002 Z06. The one I want has a cracked windshield from a rock. I heard that once replaced, the seal is crappy and its just not the same. Any comments or experiences would be helpful. Thanks.

I am on my second replacement windshield and second installer. The first one leaked and they couldn't get it to stop. The second one leaks as well. Trying to get it to stop leaking.

Thanks. I think I'll buy it and find a good installer and be absolutely clear that I want a 100% professional job.

Roger that..My installer was froma nationally recognized company..but it still leaked...it took them two visits to get it right...

Make sure the company has a "We'll make it right clause" and do TEST their installation and look for leaks the day after the install. Leaks are generally around the 'A" column..soak the car realy good and then look for wet carpet

I had my Z06 windshield replaced by an installer recommended by a local Corvette place. Took the installer 3 passes total to get the seal around the right door. The windshield seal itself was no issue- it's all the door and trim that is a PITA on the C5 ( I watched- it is a lot of work). He got it right finally so all is well.

A good installer is key - even if he has to do the job twice, at least if he is experienced with C5's he'll know what he did wrong.

Incidentally - I chose the non-HUD replacement for my driver- the HUD works fine and with all the debree on the roads around Houston it made more practical sense for me.
