Default Steering wheel sensor

Does anyone know If the 2002 z06 has a steering wheel sensor that needs to be calibrated after a wheel allignment is done?

yes there is a sensor. if your steering wheel is too far off center while driving straight it will trigger a code.

The only time the SWPS has to be centered is when it is being installed. Centering the SWPS is not part of the wheel alignment procedure.

Does anyone know how far does the steering wheel have to be off center for the code to be trigerred? My steering wheel is noticeably off center (planning to ge an alignment done), but the code does not get triggered right away for some reason, but after some driving. Could bad alignment be the culprit here?
Thanks.

Your alignment would have to be off a good amount to set a steering sensor code. What code is it setting? c1287 or 1288 is more than likely a steering sensor going bad.

No codes being tripped. Just pulls to the left a little after an allignment and after a re-check of the allignment. Might be a tire issue.

I'm getting the c1287 code. Yesterday I got it right when I started the car.. turned the wheel a little bit to straighten the wheels and pull out of the garage and the code was set. So it's more likely the sensor?
