Odd tranny problem..
Well this is what it does... When getting on it like in a drag race, i go for third.. It goes in but i notice it feels hard putting it in but its smooth, doesnt grind, just hard to push but it feels like it goes in gear. Pop the clutch back out and the gear is not there... Nothing.. hits rev limit then i pull it back to neutral. Push clutch back in and its normal.. NOW whats odd is I did this last nite while racing a Yamaha R6 (in mexico ofcourse on closed course) and my friend said my reverse lights came on..BUT im 100% positive not trying to put it in reverse. This has only happened 2 times since ive owned the car.. (6 months) Anyone had a similar issue? Tranny and shifter are still stock. 04Z

If you move your hand more to the left and don't hold the **** real tight when you go for third, just push it up a little more gently and let it jump to the right by itself when it hits the neutral gate I'm pretty sure your problems will be over. I had the same problem when I got my C5 and started racing it and was afraid something was wrong with the drivetrain. A guy posted on the forum about the same problem you're having and some guys told him to hold the shifter different so I tried it and it's worked great ever since and that was a couple years ago.
