Has anyone replaced all the window/roof weatherstripping on their coupes? This is something I am interested in doing. I know it's going to be expensive. If anyone has done it,could you please give me the details.
I did it, took 20 minutes....I got the trim from the stealership so it was $$$$ Gene Culley is your answer for a less expensive weatherstrip. Ecklers carries it as well, but I'd check with Gene first. He's on here pretty often. Maybe he'll chime in, if not....send him a pm.
A local vette shop replaced my "halo weather stripping."
I still get a small drip or two when I wash my vette or it rains hard, so I know the weather stripping on the sides of my painted top need to be replaced. I believe the little bit of water is coming in right at the corner-where the top's weather stripping meets the halo weather stripping. I'm waiting until my next oil change though, since we have less rain this time of year.
just make damn sure you buy the weatherstrip from GM, others will not fit or stay properly. good luck, it will take MORE than 20 minutes IF you do it right.
