Hey all, is there an after-market Navigation/stereo/CD system availble for the C5 yet...that is, one that looks factory (like in the C6), not a "pop-out" screen? I was at Best Buy and they said that without rewiring everything from the system to the speakers that any aftermarket system would not adapt to the Bose factory system currently installed. Has anyone gone down this road yet? Thanks for any intel.

i have my pioneer f90bt hooked up to the bose with out a prob, u need a converter box which is easy to hook up. c5bearsfan did my bezel and i got my nav from him also.
The Pioneer f700bt is no longer available from Pioneer. The f90bt is limited right now. Things are tight at Pioneer so I would consider looking at Kewnood.

I have the JVC KD NX5000, and Circuit City (in 2007) told me the same thing about the Bose speakers, in other words, they wanted to sell me a whole speaker system. For some reason I didn't believe that, so I took my Vette to a more knowledgeable source, and my Bose speakers work very well with the JVC.
I just wanted to say that since I've heard a number of times places saying the Bose speakers won't work with aftermarket systems.
They say that because the Bose wont work without an adapter, and truth be told you can replace them with relatively inexpensive speakers that will have much better sound.
It boils down to : if you are replacing the head unit, you will spend a little more to also replace the speakers but you wind up with a significantly better sound system.
Me, Im not an audiophile. I think the stock system sounds fine. I added XM and a PC which I run through the stock head unit, and it sounds good for me, but it is true that if you are replacing the head unit you will get a lot better sound by also replacing the speakers for not much more in cost (subtract the price of the adapter from the price of a set of decent speakers).

The adapter saves you 79.99 and if you put this towards a set of speakers its amazing the difference. Add an amp and some good component speakers for the front and your all set

I think this is the best direction to go instead of using the stock Bose speakers. Any recommendations for the tiny/verte rear speakers or is just better buy killer front speakers and a good amp?
