The motor could just be stuck. You may be able to tap on the door panel around where the motor mounts and get the window to go down.
There are dozens of posts on this subject since it is a common problem.
If you get it working, you might want to bump the window down a fraction of an inch from full up to reverse the motor and unload the drive mechanism. This can reduce the chances that it will stick again.
my guess would be the pulley came off track and caused it to get stuck. i've never messed with the windows on these cars, but i would imagine they use a pulley system like most other cars to raise/lower the windows.
