Nick - according the the write up that Mike Mercury did the SKU at Lowes is 28929. Mike did an excellant write up. Get about 10 rolls and you can return the extras. I got mine at Menards and also got the 10lb carpet pad as stated in in the original post at Menards as well. Youprobably dont need spray on adhesive but look into oderless if you want to use it. Figure 24 hours to do the whole car. I would post pics of my job but dont know how to paste jpeg into these posts. end result is worththe time and effort
I did the Madvette sound proofing kit whe they were on sale. I even went a little overboard on the coverage because of having extra material. I covered every surface I could find with the material. The girlfriend and I don't think it did a single thing for the noise, total waist of time and money. Here are some pics.
I also did the FK soudproofing per Mike Mercury's write up and it really helped. A month later I replaced the run flats with a good set of non run flats and I have a totally different car.
I did the Madvette kit on the wife's coupe recently and it damped the part of the noise she hoped it would without quieting the exhaust noise she enjoys so much. I'd love to ditch her runflats but admit the peace-of-mind on her vette is reassuring so they stay for now.
The FK mod I did to my coupe had a more significant quieting effect because it is adhered to the panels rather than just laying against them as the Madvette material does and dampens better. You need to use spray adhesive on the Madvette insulation if you want better sound insulation from it.

JIM,
Sorry to hear that you werent satified with the soundproofing product you used. If you dont mind my asking do you have run flats? If so non run flats will make a nice improvement. I used frost king on the whole interior, the wheel wells and even some on the liner and also used 3/8" 10 pound carpet pad on the passenger and driver side from firewall up the riser behind the seats. the carpet pad im referring to is sold at menard's if they have one near you. I'll bet you could get the same results as I have but you'll need to continue the work a bit (wheel wells, liners and carpet pad). Hang in there. RLZ
I am going to pull my wheel liners out in the rear and stuff up in there soon, that seems to be the only place left on my car that gets allot of noise....or at least as much as you can cut from a vert.
i have about 75 sq feet of dynamat in my car and it is heavy!

Couple of things I found....With rear wheel liner off: 1. close off area around gas filler tube (I used insul in zip lock bags..) then seal up 2. tape up area at top between inner tub and exterior panel (closed cell tape) leaving open drain holes 3. tape off rocker panel channel (closed cell tape) 4. remove tail lights and put insul on back of inner tub....the storage areas in the back resonate noise like crazy, so double in there......As my first mod, neighbor told me about FK, the improvement tickled me to death....A Z has no soundproofing....
Just did it on my car with FK. Took a looooooong time, probably around 15 hours, did the whole car, except doors. Huge difference, it was very hard to drive and use the cell phone at the same time (I know, I know...).
Our Lowes did not stock Frost King. I found it however at Home Depot in the A/C dept. Here is a link to my thread: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...-a-budget.html
I did notice a change in temp. Its def. cooler. Noise is reduced in the cabin but not in the rear compartment. I am considering tearing the back apart and doubling up lol
