My 1998 C5 with dual climate control is having problems with the "mode" control. No matter which mode I select, the blower fan blows mostly for windshield defrost. Switching to foot or passenger modes dies not change the airflow. The defroster is not selected. Any ideas?
Could be your actuators are not working or out of sync or possibly lost vacumm. Do a search for resync'ing the actuators in the tech forum. For vacumm check the connector behind the intake manifold to make sure the hose is connected. There is vacumm canister is inside the right front fender near the PCM the vacumm hose runs from the manifold to their under the battery tray.
I had a similar problem and it turned out my battery leaked and destroyed the vacumm line under the battery tray. Fortunately it didn't effect the wiring harness.

There is another write up on resetting the Actuators & I'll forward that later today when I get home. But your problem is the same *** mine was, the other is for when air comes out cold on the pass side & hot on driveers side. When this happens I reset the codes and the Actuator resets & all is good. I willl do the Actuator recalibration soon enough because I also want to lube my squeeky fan at times
I'm on my cell phone now so if you can you can either call me or e-mail me at madmatt9471@sbcglobal.net
The problem turned out to be a patch repair from the previous owner. Instead of replacing the tube after acid damage, he spliced in a patch. It finally came apart. That fixed the temp actuator seems to be bad. At least from the DIC code. The next fix.
Thanks to all for your assistance.
