I was wondering what material my 2003 anniversary wheels are made of? I thought I read that the magnesium wheels were discontinued in 2001, so I'm assuming they are aluminium. Is this correct? I have a bent wheel and I want to tell the person who is fixing it what the material is. Thanks
[FONT="Comic Sans MS"]The wheels are made of 'Magnesium' I know this as my 2003 50th AE got hit in the right read and the wheel was broken and the shop had to hunt around to find one and it cost $600.00 but they said it WAS indeed a Magnesium wheel. If you look at the KBB estimate of used Corvettes and they list a magnesium wheel as an option.
I`m a lil confused on this. I thought my 03 AE wheels were Magnesium also, then someone pointed out they are made from aluminum. So, I looked it up at the 50th Corvette Registry and sure enough, aluminium IS the standard material used on the AE wheels, right?

2003 AE Gold wheels are aluminum.
ALSO, and more importantly, if the guy repairing your wheel needs you to tell him what they are made of, I'd take them to someone else for the repair..
