Default headlight trouble c5

I have a 2001 c5 that the left front headlight motor was not working when I bought the car, it would run on after the lights were turned on or off and the gear was stripped inside the left headlight motor. So I replaced the gear for about 30 dollars ,pretty simple fix and it worked good for about 20 times and it stripped the gear again . So I bought a gm headlight motor this time it sells for 330.00 and replace the thing now the left headlight cycles up and down 4 times when you turn the lights on or off, but it does end up in the open position when you turn it on and closes when you close it but it also cycles 4 times then closes any help would be appreciated . Thanks .Frank P.S. THE RIGHT HEADLIGHT WORKS PERFECTLY !

Waste of time to replace a stripped gear with more nylon crap! Get the brass gear and be done with it!
