I have taken thousands and thousands of pictures and have seen some strange things happen, Never seen anything like this, If I had to take a guess would say that while the image was being processed by the camera something got a bit scattered. Anything is possible with digital, I once took a picture of a NASCAR driver (Michael Waltrip) while he was running through the pits and for some reason there was about a 2 inch space from his neck and his shoulders, Like his head wasn't attached to his body...lol

does anyone have a scientific explanation for this?
Someone posted recently, that it has to do with how digital cameras process the image once the light through the aperture hits the sensor. I don't think you could duplicate that effect with film.
