Just wondering if you remove the catalytic converters if it makes your exhaust louder or if it reduces performance any? I have the borla stingers on it right now.
Borla straight pipes. If you shop around you can find them for like $320 - $380, get the Xpipe for a couple more bills, and have it installed for 60 bucks. VERY nice and loud if you want to be but still quiet at rpm's under 2000
I think you'll find larger problems with engine performance in respect to the O2 sensors and what'll happen to your fuel mixture. Got to remember that these cars were designed to run with the cats in mind.
Alot louder, and a little funny sounding if you don't have headers. I replaced my cats with straight pipes in their place a few months ago. I have electric cutouts and they sound okay with the cutouts open. Very loud. Would sound alot better with headers.
Through the exhaust with the cutouts closed, it did not make much difference. It is a little bit louder, but not a huge difference. You will have to get a tune to get the computer back right and also to program out the rear 02 sensors. Without this being done you will get a service engine light. The rear 02's are only there to check and see whether or not the cats are working correctly. The front 02's tell the computer to adjust.
