Figure this one out!!
I've got a 2001 Z06 with 39,000 miles. About 2,000 miles ago I got the check engine light so I checked the code which was PO332, reset it, came back on within 20 miles so I reset again and played this game for a few more times finally I take it to the local chevy dealer here in town and they tell me the usual for this. We replaced the KS-2, built the damn etc etc. Great!! I drive out feeling they got it. I go about 12 miles and the light goes on. Go back to dealer they say ok we replaced the KS-1&2, the wiring harness & cam position sensor. Great!! This had to do it. I drive out get about 15 miles & the light goes on!!!!!!!!!!
I go back to dealer and they say there was a short in the computer so we replaced it and all is well. Great!! I drive out and go about 15 miles
and the **##*+* light goes on!! They say they don't know what it is!!
It starts and runs perfect, ALWAYS!! I also put a new MAF on just to cover all bases but the CE light will not go away. What's up with that? Everytime, code PO332 never any other code.
Edit: 70 + views and no one has a fix? I am surprised I would be the only one with this problem these cars all seem to have the same issues.
I'm not sure of your code, but I have a check engine light similarly intermittent and I just found the hose on the right side, just under the plastic cover, which seems to be an evaporative emission control line has a hole in it. It is a 99, and it looks like it just melted through after years of heat. Easy fix once you find it. Check yours. It is a molded hose like an elbow. Look (or feel) on the bottom.
Since the knock sensor was just replaced maybe it should be checked for proper installation. A knock sensor that is loose or over torqued may cause the DTC to set.
Come on!!! No one has had this issue? I need some help before I go back to Lamb Chevrolet here in Prescott, AZ. and let them know this is unacceptable. If I was paying cash instead of extended warranty i bet they would figure it out, huh? It's so frustrating!!!
ZeeoSix, Thank you for responding! As far as I know they have their "Master Technician" who knows Z06's like no other human on the planet. They have replaced everything that is related to this code but the CE light comes on within 15 miles of leaving the dealership. It makes no sense. Runs & starts perfect all the time. I just got back from a 1,500 mile trip with lots of different types of driving conditions and no problems. It's annoying more than anything to have that light always on. I am due for an oil/filter change and I am demanding they go through it again.
Took my 01 Z06 in yesterday to Lamb Chevrolet/Prescott Az. for the 4th time!
Did my normal oil & filter change, which like always, when I got home & checked the oil level.........it was 3/4 quart low plus they charged me for 7 qts. How in the hell do you put 7qts in and it's a quart low!
Not only that but the so called "Master GM Mechanic" left the car in a mess!! Oil smudges all over the motor and fenders!! I had them do the plugs and wires too which they quoted me $400 range then it ended up being $500 range.
As far as the CE light goes they said there was a vacuum hose off at the back of the manifold. You would think that after 4 attempts to fix this problem and you were a "Master GM Mechanic" you would remember to plug in/check that all vacuum lines were on if this sets off the Check Engine Light!! Im thinking they still have not figured out the problem and within a few drives the light will go back on.
If it does, I will be finding a new "Master GM Mechanic." I have been more than patient with them and very much pissed off at what the results are every time they say..."We fixed the problem.........
From: KADS- If it has wings or an engine, I can break it. Dallas TX
Well the Master Tech. doesn't make as much just fixing a vacuum leak. If he sells a bunch of parts him and the dealer make money........... Time to find a new mechanic, instead of a parts swapper.
