Default c5 z06 general questions

2002 Z06, with Kooks LT,High Flow Cat X,Corsa Cat back, Vararam, 380rwhp

I was sitting in traffic yesterday 94 degrees and and coolant temp was showing 227deg. normally it is 194-201deg. Is that to hot for these cars?

I am to going to take the fan shroud off and clean out any dirt between the condenser and rad. Also I am going to put som water wetter in it.

Running a Vararam ram air, it is using a green foam air filter, can i replace this filter with a better quality filter like k/n or non foam filter, where can i buy and what would be part number I am assuming this would not be stock air filter size

Also I have been looking for those headlights for c5 that are 4 round lights that replace the stock headlight but are still pop up style if someone could post up link to them or where I can buy them.

I ran my car in the 1/4 and it ran 12.2 @118.9 with stock tires.

(my buddy with his evo that runs 12.79 Is tweaking more so i was just wanting to up the game on him )

If i was to put some drag radials on it do I need to change anything in the rearend to keep it from exploding?

I saw a cts-v in front of me (at the strip) with drag radials drive through the water box and smash the gas and peel out an then traction hop then bang rearend was dead. He killed the rearend due to his method of heat the tires then traction hop and not letting off. But i guess my question is what breaks in the rearend. and can it take drag radials if burnouts are done correctly?

thanks for your time
Jay

Wheel hop kills cars. Not tires. You're safe running drags, if your dragging.

My car will always get to 226 or so degrees when idling for a long time or not moving fast.

Those lights you are talking about were discontinued a long time ago.

Early CTS-V is a bad example because their rears were notoriously weak.

Mine ran that hot here in Phoenix never had a problem. Changed the fluid and added Royal Purple Purple Ice dropped the temp by 20. I know it sounds like snake oil however two others have had the same results here in Phoenix.

Stuff Rocks.
