You are correct. The reflector assemblies (especially on composate headlights) were never designed to cope with the amount of output from an HID bulb. The result is horrible glare, a poor output pattern and blinding light to other drivers.
Unfortionatly, GM's headlights through through the 90s and into the 00s were among the worst when it comes to effectivness of HID retrofit kits. The biggest reason is the fluted lens that causes the light to scatter all over the place which when used with HID bulbs creates a blinding light to oncoming traffic....even if the lights are correctly aimed.

Wrong!
I closed them down so people would stop Pming be about kits. These kits will be in full force by fall. Not from me, but another company is bringing them back. Former ACAs for everyone!!!
if anyone wants ACAs (black housing) i have a set i'll sell. i JUST bought them from a forum member and havent installed them on my car. they are in pristine shape and include everything down to the instructions. pm a brother
