Cracked HUD Windshield

When you run the part numbers for Corvettes..you get back two numbers...one for the ZO6 and one for the coupes.
With respect to APTech Glass Only
Coupes have HUD's, Z06's have HUDS..both windshields are the same shape and size i.e. they fit the same "hole".
The only wild card here is that some vettes hav a windshield with an antenna in them.... all this may or may not apply to them. I have no experience with them
The only supposed diffrence is that the Z06 windshield is a 4.8mm thick windshield, ie lighter by about 5lbs. BUT....APTech only makes ONE winshield for corvettes and uses TWO part numbers!
The DW1430 and the DW1514 are the same windshield.
The DW1430 is about 1/2 the price as the 1514. THIS IS TRUE FOR APTECH ONLY
There are other manufactures that produce a DW1430 windshield and they are NOT HUD windshields!
If you check the lower right side corner, pasenger side, there's some information. Its called the "Bug". Its the actual specifications of the windshield its on....THEY ARE THE SAME on both models.
This is the APTech "Coupe" windshield that went into my car...it was 1/2 the price, (~500 bucks), of the "Correct" APTech Z06 windshield. It cost me 400 bucks becausee they had to special order it from APTech jfor me. Normal price was 350 or so if in stock

I had a phone conversation with an applications rep. from AP Technoglass this afternoon.
The correct OEM replacement glass for a convertible with HUD is: DW1372-GBN.
According to him, windshield glass for C5 Corvette coupes and convertibles do not interchange.

Do convertables hav an antenna in their windshields? I know that the 1430 and 1514 dont

If you have a Targa COUP your windshield will be thicker w/HUD screen. The Z06 windshield is thinner w/HUD screen to save weight for racing per GM Stock spec.. They have both windshield with or without HUD, make sure you request thicker w/HUD. Also get all new weather stripping, the old one doesn't do well on a re-install, you will have leaks... Save yourself the learning experience... Good Luck..
