I have a 2003 MY Z06. Totally stock down to the Supercar tires.
I haven't raced a manual car in quiet some time and I was definitely rusty. The track is in Roswell, NM @ 3600' elevation and a density altitude that night was touching 7000' (80F temps and baro of 29.6).
Anyway, my best run of the night was 13.56 @ 103.9 or so with a 2.17 60'. I let my friend drive it who now claims the Sultan of Shift over me (sometimes I'd get better times in manual cars and vice versa) and first time ever driving a Z06, he ran: 13.3 @ 108. Hot lapped the car and he went: 13.26 @ 109 with a horrendous 2.21 60'.
I've raced at this track and also at San Antonio Raceway (when it was River City Raceway). The average time difference from the two tracks was about .7 (7 tenths) of a second. Just thought I'd share the times.
Interesting post.. This shows how Density altitude impacts power output.. A lot of folks run around and compare dyno numbers,, My car makes this much power,,, yada yada yada.. A lot of dyno numbers are uncorrected.. Maybe these folks can learn something from your post... Thanks
103? damn... get some turbos for that high elevation.
Well when I ddi 103, it was the lowest trap speed of the night. Most were 104/105. Of course, that's what me granny shifting. My friend hit 108 and 109 the only two times he tried.
