Default Intake upgrade?

I've had my ZO6 for 7 months and put 10K miles on it (2 oil changes,2nd set or tires) I'm looking to change the intake. Are there any cold air intakes that I should stay away from..JUNK?? Carbon fiber would be a plus. Thanks in advance.

Buy a Vararam or don't waste your time.

It's the best hands down.

Install was PITA but well worth the effort.

I went with the Callaway Honker. It seemed to have the best reviews by far and I would agree.

The Vararam would have been the only other model I would have chosen, but I read far to many posts about the quality (or lack thereof). Regardless, there are a ton of folks that love theirs so it must be a decent choice as well.

I have had both the VR and the Honker. Now running the honker. Both have their supporters on the Forum. I would look for a slightly used Honker in the parts for sale section. They don't come up often but you can save some money when they do . I had some surging problems with the VR and also with the Vortex . No problems with the Honker.

Vararam is a waste of money. The engineering behind it is sound, but the quality is horrid. Why someone would bolt poorly molded plastic parts that appear to have been cut with a hacksaw in places to a $50K car is beyond me. These guys won't even spend 1.5 seconds to get their sticker on straight. Unless you have no eye for detail, stay away from it.

I'd suggest the Callaway Honker or SLP Blackwing. Both are well proven designs and offer great quality in materials and craftsmanship.

if you decide to go with the Vararam, I've got a brand new VR-B2 still sealed in the box from VR to sell.

The Honker is an OEM quality unit and produces excellent results. Installation is not difficult and they include everything you need. Worth it even at list price.

I have a Halltech Venom Cai on my Z. I got It used from the for sale forum in new condition. Id recommend it to anyone. Only thing I kept worrying about was the filter taking in water when I wash the car or drive in the rain so I got a hood seal to ease my mind.

Our Beehive completely covers the filter and fits all C6s.

Callaway Honker on my C5Z. The best CAI for fit, finish, and proven performance results IMO...and its 50 state smog legal too.
