Where/What kind/How much??? Im planning on replacing all the stock valve springs in my LS6, can i get a little info before makeing a purchase? (its an all stock motor)
Not sure these are the correct set for what you are looking for. 2 friends of mine have the same year Z "03" as I do and both have broken a spring. Both are over 50K miles. Both are running Patriot Performance.
I wanted to replace my stock valve springs for "piece of mind", so I did research on the Internet for about a month before deciding to go with PAC 1218 springs.
Oh, BTW, I got a great deal on the PAC 1218's from Byunspeed. (A forum vendor) The springs were $215 at the PAC Racing website, but I got them for $165 from Byunspeed and free shipping. These are beehive springs, so you should be able to reuse the factory retainers/locks/etc. unless you want to replace those while you're in there. The spring rate is higher than stock, so it that worries you, you might want to look into getting the PAC 1215's, which are closer to the stock specs. Or just get some LS2 springs.

I also broke 2 valve springs.. seems the springs in the 2002 and 2003 early models couldn't hold the increase cam lobe.. The new spring that I got in late 2003 is actually the ls2 spring.. the part # is 12586484. I did a lot of searching and never heard of a 2004 breaking a valve spring at no load..
Good luck.. what ever you choose it's money well spent.. insurance..

Yeah, I still haven't heard of a bunch of 2004's w/ broken springs. I think maybe? there was 1 from our old thread on the subject. There's been more than enough time now for the 2004 to show issues if it had them.
