C5 front chin spoiler???
This is probably a dumb question but what is the purpose of the front 3 piece black chin spoiler??? Has anyone taken theres off and left it off??? I've seen some examples of after market chin spoilers but can you leave it off all together??? (I'm not crazy about the aftermarket ones). I scrape the entrance to my garage everytime I pull in and out. It gets kinda of annoying after a while. My vette is lowered on stock bolts before you ask.

They are air dams... direct flow to the radiator and engine bay...Depends on the temps tho... I have heard of people's engine temps going above "normal" on warn-hot days without them.
The center piece is on a spring and flexes back, the scraping sound isn't a big deal. They are designed to do that.
