Do yourself a favor and don't run the kit with the car off. I've killed mine 3 or 4 times doing this just being lazy (not wanting to go in and get the keys).
From my experience with selling these over the last yr most people need the new ballast. I haven't had too many that required the relay harness from flickering. That's just from my past experience. You might need the harness.

not yet, how about this? I use my 10 amp battery charger? Otherwise I will make a long jumper cable...I'm tired of reaching in there after 3 days of this crap

Ok, will most likely get something from you once I do the last test. How do you explain that I was able to fire it up once after the battery charge? Doesn't that mean the ballast is ok? Nightmare continues......
