Just bought a 2003 coupe with only 13K miles on it and the driver seat is sprung / broken. I discribe it as sprung but the left side of the seat (seat back rest not the lower seat) leans towards the driver door. Anyone got any ideas how I go about fixing this? Thanks
I dont really know how to describe it. Physically looking at the seat it looks flush but when you climb in it it is weak on the left side and twist. The seat seams weak like I "can" twist it by hand and make it lean. Also would describe like damaged from a larger guy crashing into that side of the seat when getting in the car.
being new to the vettes I see you mentioned the seat not locking in?? Neither of my seats are locked in. They pull forward about 6'' or so then I can flip the lever on the seat back and they will pull forward some more. Should they be locked in place when leaned back somehow?? I tried locking them down but couldnt get that done either.
I might take the seat out to see what actually broke. I did fold up a towel and wedged it in behind the seat in that corner and it is about normal. Other than still being broke that is.
This seat fix corrects a problem where one side of the back of the seat does not support your weight and "twists". I found this fix on the Corvette Action Forum and also on this site.
1. Move seat as far forward as it will go.
2. Pull up the side lever to lay the seat back as far as it will go. This re-aligns the linkages.
3. This fix corrected a problem I had with my 2001 vert passenger seat. I had spoken to several people and they had told me the seat frame was broken. This fix does not correct the "rocking" seat issue listed on this forum.
