Default 99 C5 Coupe suspension options

Just bought a 99 coupe with base suspension.

I would like improve the handling of my vette, but not to the point where the ride will be too harsh or too loud. The coupe is my DD. I'm thinking of going aftermarket instead of using ZO6 equipment (I don't want to go through the hassle of finding the parts, and not being sure what i'm getting).

I don't want to lower the car more than an inch since its pretty low stock. I'm thinking of replacing the front and rear antiroll bars, shocks and maybe springs.

Please give me your suggestions. I'm sure its on here, but I have not been able to find a suspension thread yet.

Thanks

I really like my Bilstein Sports, but I don't mind a somewhat rough ride... afterall, it is a sports car that sits like 3" off the ground.. if you want something slightly softer.. maybe the Bilstein HD's would be the better route for you.

Next upgrade will be C6Z51 swaybars and some wider wheels (stock Z06 sizes). At that point, I'll decide what I want to do with springs..

Get some Z06 or Z51 swaybars. I have C6Z06 shocks on mine. They are cheaper then most aftermarket and work great. My 1999 is my daily driver too.

I have a 98 coupe, I added c6 Z06 swaybars and shocks and they made a big difference. They are cheaper then most aftermarket units. It is a great price effective mod!

If yours is to be a daily driver, get C6 Z51 Sways and Knoni FSD shocks as you will get a smooth ride and super handling without harsh setup, I know that his what is on my C6 that started out with a base suspension

I just got c6 z51 sways and metal end links for my coupe after researching on here. info I got said the c6 z06 bars were to big unless you have wider aftermarket wheels/tires. matter of opinion I'm sure but it swayed my decision to the z51's.
talk to gene culley for these bars as the price just came down about $100 for the set.

There's no better deal on the market right now than the C6Z51/Z06 sway bars and end links. The C6Z shocks are a great improvement also. I'm also running this combo and I love it.

Where can I buy the C6Z51/Z06 sway bars and end links? Can someone send me a link? Or is this something I need to look for in the for for sell section? I rather buy new.

I'll probably go with the Konis for shocks though.

Thank to all for the info.

Are the C6 Z06 shocks, springs and sway bars completely compatible with the C5 or do I need to modify anything?

Also, what is the difference between the C6Z06 and C6Z51 shocks? In terms of ride quality and handling? I imagine the Z06 shocks are stiffer?

Shocks and sway bars are swappable between the two generations.. springs are not.

Have you looked at PFADT? They have adjustable shocks and sway bars. That way you set the ride they way you want. I have the PFADT Aggressor II package and love it.

''I don't want to lower the car more than an inch since its pretty low stock.'' ...that's why they call em 4X4's!

Only an inch? Just lower on the stock bolts!
Or go
