i didn't noticed a difference between rp and mobil 1 but I did notice a difference when i went to amsoil car seems to run much smoother

Not sure about RP (but know that my local Napa carries it). AMSOIL can easily be bought online (info in my sig).

P.S. FYI, I recommend these for the C5 manual:
Tranny: AMSOIL Torque-Drive Synthetic Transmission Fluid (product code ATD1G - you'll need 1 gal)
Diff: AMSOIL Severe Gear Extreme Pressure Synthetic 75w90 (product code SVGQT - you'll need 2 quarts)
Note: This fluid comes with friction modifier already in it and most C5 diffs do not require extra to prevent diff chatter
Handy for the DIYer: AMSOIL Hand Pump (product code G2039)
Note: I recommend removing the plastic tip from the hose - not needed and might come off somewhere you do not want it to.
