its not true man you know nothing about that!

Personally I like the pop ups under the theory that I'd rather the car was ugly only in the dark than 24 hours a day.

If I was to do fixed lights I'd go for the Breathless style. Low profile and match the lines of the car much better than the frog eye styles.

Those are sweet...But for the extra thousand bucks I guess they should be. Shame that georgeous car has to have that ugly tag on the front.

I looked at the Breathless lights too as I like the way they lay with the body lines, I just couldn't come to grips with the rectangular driving lens.

The rectangular lens kills me too. If I could get my hands on a set of BP lights for a few weeks, another forum member has a remedy in mind.

I love those BP's but I can't figure out why they cost so much! Must be not enough of us are buying them (I mean, seriously, I have a really nice 17" laptop with enough computing power to land astronauts on Mars and it cost less!!!???!!!)

Pop-ups were designed to solve a styling problem that no longer exits, IMHO. Very inefficient and the only thing that makes our C5's look dated.

OP -- what were you quoted for the stock lights and assemblies by your body shop?

These are the real deal. I went with the exposed version of these lights instead.

No more headlight motor worries, much better lense and projector style so that beam is concentrated instead of scattered.

i too am looking at some fixed headlights as my right actuator is acting up and gets annoying to pop my hood and turn my headlight **** for it to flip up. I've already did the gear mod and buying a new actuator is expensive like 235$. But like everyone else I hate the look but want this problem to go away and never come back!

I personally like the pop-ups that came on the C5. While they are not the best in terms of light output, they can be modified to do a much better job while still retaining the pop-up feature.

i absolutely hate the stock flip ups on my C5. My FIRST mod when i bought this car 4 yrs ago was to buy the fixed lights. The Breathless Performance ones were bull**** and crap. why would you put a darn halogen type headlight in there!

that is why i went with the C5R Specter Werks kit. dual projectors (low and high). I also put in a set of HIDs. the light output is amazing! almost as good as my mercedes!!! i can light up 4 lanes wide on the road. it has the sharp cutoff so it would not bling oncoming traffic or produce glare.

however, i will say, the quality of the C5R kit is ABSOLUTE CRAP!!! it is very cheap and flimsy. It took me damn near 20 hrs to install this kit. Getting stuff to line up was impossible and aligning the beam patterns was just a chore. I really was cussing up a storm when i installed them, but afterwards, it was worth the pain. I've had them in for 4 yrs now... just last yr the lexan lids started cracking due to stress around the bolts.

overall though, i dunno if it was worth the 1300 i spent on them, but it was a definite improvement in overall light performance. you literally out drive the stock headlights...

well I like the non pop ups, but the cost to buy a set and get it to Australia would make you pass out at about 3K, I don't do enough night driving to justify that amount so the shi**y pop ups will have to do

Default Sorry but ............

I really don't like the fixed headlites . Looks European.

One of many reasons I keep my FRCes/C5 Z05 is I don't like the front of the C6. I was and am really disappointed. Told my sister-in-law right to her face when she brought that new 2005 C6 home, don't like the front end.
