Default Convertable rear window coming unglued ??

My 01 Conv rear glass window has started to separate from the cloth top. It looks like There's a kind of 3M double sided tape about 1/8" thick and 3/8" wide, but it's started to ripe off....

Has anyone had this issue ? and did you manage to get some replacement tape form anywhere ?? The Local GM dealer was less than helpful (Quote "Sorry we can only sell you a new roof at $7000")...

Any advice would be nice....

Had mine reglued in Maryland for $200. Every convertible top shop that I contacted said that it couldn't be done. Dropped my car at of all things a boat reupholstery shop that morning and picked it up that afternoon. Six months later and still no sign of separation. You can also just buy a top alone. I think they go for four to five hundred and I've seen installation around five hundred.

Good luck!!

There are several threads for repairing a loose convertible rear window. Here is one.

There are several threads. I fixed mine with Rhino Glue mentioned in one of them. It's gone through a hotter than he11 summer and a hard cold winter and it is still holding up. It's worth a try. You can always replace the top, but $7,000 is waaaaay too much.

Fixed mine with the recommended Rhino Glue. I believe you have to buy it on line. 1 year later it is still holding strong. Wouldn't recommend anything else. Rhino Glue works. Here is their link.
